WorkCamp 2022!!
December 2 update: Calling all current high schoolers: Now is the time to apply for WorkCamp! Please connect with Charlie and Paul as soon as possible if you’d like to learn more or apply to join us next summer!
Please don’t hesitate to reach-out, even if you did not make it to one of the information meetings early last month. But you’ll need to apply now or very soon, before the spaces are all filled-up!
Contact us: youthministry@holytrinityparish.net

November 4 update: Three meetings remain, including one this evening!
Original post: It’s only the fall… so winter and spring may be difficult to imagine, much less next summer! However, the diocese asks us to start signing people up officially in early December, and that’s also when fundraising begins, so that’s why we’re having these meetings now! So this is when the planning for next summer’s WorkCamp week begins…
So… are you currently in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12, and want to just learn more — maybe you’re vaguely interested, not ready to make a commitment, maybe you’ve just heard something about WorkCamp from a friend, etc. — if this is you, please join us next week at one of FOUR OPTIONS to learn more:
– Tuesday, November 2, 6:00-6:45 pm
– Thursday, November 4, 6:00-6:45 pm
– Sunday, November 7, 4:00-4:45 pm
– Sunday, November 7, 8:15-9:00 pm
All four meetings will have the same content, so you just need to come to one meeting to get the info we’re sharing; all meetings will be in the Youth Room, but we’ll gather outside the basement doors (near the pond) about 5 minutes before the meetings begin, then go inside.
Any questions? Please contact parish Director of Youth Ministry, Paul Bevins: youthministry@holytrinityparish.net

Giving thanks and feeding & praying with the homeless
This Thanksgiving weekend, two groups of our St. Joseph’s Workers teens and adult youth minister volunteers prepared meal bags (on Friday) and delivered the food to and prayed with the homeless in Washington, DC (Saturday), offering both corporal and spiritual works of mercy to those in need on this special holiday weekend. This idea was created by one of our volunteer youth ministers, Isaac, whose birthday was also this weekend… he wanted to change it up and give to others to celebrate his birthday in a special way.
This generous idea made a perfect match on a weekend when we remember how much we’ve been blessed, and how we can share with those in need. Thank you, all volunteers, teens and adults! And a big thank you in particular to Isaac for the idea and leading the charge for both shifts!
Some highlights:

Thanksgiving in St. Augustine
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November. It is a holiday instituted by George Washington and confirmed by Abraham Lincoln for the fourth Thursday of November. Both presidents explain that Thanksgiving is for the express purpose of thanking Almighty God for His blessings throughout the year. The holiday expresses clearly the belief of the Founding Fathers of our nation, as well as the citizens of the United States, that Almighty God exists and is to be reverenced for His Goodness, Love and Mercy.

Please mark your calendars to come and enjoy our annual Bethlehem Walk scheduled for Tuesday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 22nd from
5 – 8pm each night. We will be back inside this year!
We need lots of helping hands to pull together this amazing parish gift to our community. We are in need of families who will dress up in costumes and be our villagers, as well as people who are willing to greet our guests and they arrive. There is a lot of preparation to do to transform our hallways into the little town of Bethlehem. We are most in need of babies. If you have had a baby since August 15th and would consider joining us as the Holy Family, we would be most appreciative. Please stop in Our Lady’s Hal after Mass today and tomorrow to learn more about how to get involved in the blessed parish event
Can you help us with some supplies that we share with our guests? Click HERE to sign up! How about baking? Do you enjoy making cookies? We would love to have some help with refreshments for our guests! Click HERE to sign up! Cleaning up after this big event is always a big job and many hands make the work easier to do! Barney Casey came from a large family in Oak Grove, Wisconsin. At the age of 21, and after he had worked as a logger, a hospital orderly, a streetcar operator, and a prison guard, he entered St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee. The studies were hard for him and he left. In 1896, Barney joined the Capuchins in Detroit, taking the name Solanus. His studies for the priesthood were again hard.
