Bethlehem Walk

December 22, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 8:00 pm

For two nights this Advent Season, with the help of props, sets, and costumed parishioners, our halls will once again be transformed into the town of Bethlehem. Holy Trinity will invite our local community to walk through the town streets and make its way to the Holy Family.    Our hope is that through this unique commemoration of the nativity of our Blessed Lord, we will all be reminded of the true Gift of Christmas.  Jesus clothes himself in human skin and the innocence of an infant, and beckons us to Him.  We may never fully realize the wonder of this miraculous gift this side of heaven, but during Advent, we hope to share this true meaning of Christmas.   We invite you to shake the dust off your sandals and leave the chaos and noise of the 21st century and walk the streets of Bethlehem in anticipation of that special night that changed humanity forever.

As we transform Holy Trinity into a living Bethlehem, we want you to be an integral part of this special event.  We are collecting monetary donations as well as household items like old sheets, baskets, artificial trees, and fabric.  We’re looking for bakers, actors, greeters, and parishioners who will wrap this special intention in prayer.  We also need live farm animals and pet rabbits that enjoy interacting with children. Finally, if you have had a baby since the middle of August or are expecting an arrival in the next 2 months, we would love to speak with you!  No act is too small.   Christmas is coming…Christ is coming, and this gift is ours to share. Join us!

Bethlehem Walk at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Gainesville, VA

Please mark your calendars to come and enjoy our annual Bethlehem Walk scheduled for Tuesday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 22nd from
5 – 8pm each night. We will be back inside this year!

We need lots of helping hands to pull together this amazing parish gift to our community.  We are in need of families who will dress up in costumes and be our villagers, as well as people who are willing to greet our guests and they arrive.  There is a lot of preparation to do to transform our hallways into the little town of Bethlehem.  We are most in need of babies.  If you have had a baby since August 15th and would consider joining us as the Holy Family, we would be most appreciative.  Please stop in Our Lady’s Hal after Mass today and tomorrow to learn more about how to get involved in the blessed parish event
