Please join us in extending a big welcome to Jim Harbour, a Youth Apostles Seminarian that has been assigned to Holy Trinity Youth Ministries for his eight week summer assignment this May, June, and July! Jim is a Lifetime Consecrated member of the Youth Apostles community and a seminarian for the Diocese of Arlington, attending Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Before seminary, Jim served as a Youth Missionary in the youth ministries at St. Bernadette in Springfield and at the campus ministries at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
Jim has a huge heart for youth ministry, and will be a great gift to our middle schoolers and high schoolers this summer. He will be involved in all regular youth ministries, particularly in helping to lead our special middle school July-Wednesday ministries, “Thunder” and “Salt & Light”. He will also be joining us for WorkCamp, the Steubenville Conferences, Kings Dominion Day, and more!
Jim will begin his summer seminarian assignment this coming Monday, May 23rd! Please say hello to him when you see him. But more so, please keep him in your prayers, as well as all of the middle schoolers and high schoolers of our parish!
December 17 update:Reminder that auditions are this weekend!
December 9 update: The auditions have been rescheduled until Sunday, December 19. Same time, 2-4:30 pm.
The annual One Act Play and Short Film Festival is coming up on February 19, 2022! Holy Trinity’s high schoolers will be participating again this year, along with several other parishes from across the diocese, performing “Captain Dangerous”!
In preparation for this event, auditions are being held on Sunday, December 19, from 2:00-4:30 pm. If you are currently in high school, you are very welcomed to come audition! Please invite a friend as well.
December 2 update:Calling all current high schoolers: Now is the time to apply for WorkCamp! Please connect with Charlie and Paul as soon as possible if you’d like to learn more or apply to join us next summer!
Please don’t hesitate to reach-out, even if you did not make it to one of the information meetings early last month. But you’ll need to apply now or very soon, before the spaces are all filled-up!
November 4 update: Three meetings remain, including one this evening!
Original post: It’s only the fall… so winter and spring may be difficult to imagine, much less next summer! However, the diocese asks us to start signing people up officially in early December, and that’s also when fundraising begins, so that’s why we’re having these meetings now! So this is when the planning for next summer’s WorkCamp week begins…
So… are you currently in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12, and want to just learn more — maybe you’re vaguely interested, not ready to make a commitment, maybe you’ve just heard something about WorkCamp from a friend, etc. — if this is you, please join us next week at one of FOUR OPTIONS to learn more:
– Tuesday, November 2, 6:00-6:45 pm – Thursday, November 4, 6:00-6:45 pm – Sunday, November 7, 4:00-4:45 pm – Sunday, November 7, 8:15-9:00 pm
All four meetings will have the same content, so you just need to come to one meeting to get the info we’re sharing; all meetings will be in the Youth Room, but we’ll gather outside the basement doors (near the pond) about 5 minutes before the meetings begin, then go inside.
This Thanksgiving weekend, two groups of our St. Joseph’s Workers teens and adult youth minister volunteers prepared meal bags (on Friday) and delivered the food to and prayed with the homeless in Washington, DC (Saturday), offering both corporal and spiritual works of mercy to those in need on this special holiday weekend. This idea was created by one of our volunteer youth ministers, Isaac, whose birthday was also this weekend… he wanted to change it up and give to others to celebrate his birthday in a special way.
This generous idea made a perfect match on a weekend when we remember how much we’ve been blessed, and how we can share with those in need. Thank you, all volunteers, teens and adults! And a big thank you in particular to Isaac for the idea and leading the charge for both shifts!
We wanted to call your attention to several high school ministries that are on the near horizon! Many of these are offered throughout the year, too. For more: https://holytrinityupdates.com/formation/htym/

The Ultimate Frisbee Club will begin this week, and it’s first session will run for about 8 weeks this summer! Come out Friday evening, June 11, from 7:00- 8:30 pm, and meet in the back parking lot of the church, close to Limestone Drive. Don’t be too late; the group will gather there, and then walk over to a nearby field for the game!
