During the four weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Savior, and anticipate his promised Second Coming. And amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, we look for practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives.
On this short afternoon, we will present ideas for making your Advent more fruitful so you can truly enjoy the peace and joy of the Christmas Season and grow in a deeper appreciation for the Incarnation. The day will be a mixture of family activities and age appropriate formation.
We will have rooms that will cover the following topics: The Advent Wreath and the St. Andrew’s Novena. St Francis of Assisi and the Tradition of the chreche set, celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Telling the Story of the Nativity in a Box, an intentional approach to a Spiritual Advent and the Feast of Christ the King!
Families move from station to station. There will be food samples, ornament making and more. As you move from room to room, each participant will receive a piece of a Nativity Scene to take home. Collect all the pieces!
