This weekend we begin First Holy Communion for our youngsters! At most Masses for the next few weekends, a handful of our boys and girls will receive Holy Communion for the first time. Please consider offering a Hail Mary for each one.
Next Saturday, May 20th Bishop Loverde, our retired bishop, will be here to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our teens! Please keep our confirmandi in your prayers as well.
The Most Important Person on Earth
The most important person on earth is a mother.
She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral.
She need not.
She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral –
a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body…
The angels have not been blessed with such a grace.
They cannot share in God’s creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven.
Only a human mother can.
Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature;
God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation…

¡Este fin de semana comenzamos las Primeras Comuniones para nuestros niños! Durante la mayoría de nuestras Misas, durante las próximas semanas, un pequeño grupo de niños va a recibir la Sagrada Comunión por primera vez. Por favor consideren ofrecer un Ave María por cada uno.

Ella no puede reclamar el honor de haberse construido la Catedral de Notre Dame.
Ella no lo necesita.
Ella ha construido algo más magnifico que cualquier catedral – una morada para un alma inmortal, la pequeña perfección del cuerpo de su bebé…
Los ángeles no han sido bendecidos con tal gracia.
Ellos no pueden compartir en el milagro creativo de Dios para traer nuevos santos al Cielo.
Solamente una madre humana puede.
Las madres están más cercanas a Dios el Creador que cualquier otra criatura; Dios se une a las madres al ejecutar este acto de la creación…
