The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is referred to as the ‘Mass’ in the Roman Rite. The Eastern Rites It is usually referred to as the ‘Divine Liturgy.’
The Catholic Church truly has many beautiful Liturgies. If you ever have the time to look at a Divine Liturgy, it would be good. It helps with perspective.
In looking at the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, used in the Byzantine Liturgy, the congregation prays aloud immediately after the Consecration, We praise You, we bless You, we thank you, O Lord, and we pray to You, our God.
The congregation also prays before the Our Father, It is truly proper to glorify you, who have borne God, the ever-blessed, immaculate and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who a virgin, gave birth to God the Word; you, truly the Mother of God, we magnify.
Immediately before the Our Father the Deacon leads the congregation in a beautiful litany of petition for God’s mercy. The congregation responds, Lord, forgive our sins and offenses, to each invocation.
One may be thinking that there is not much said by the deacon or congregation in the Eucharistic Prayer in the Roman Rite. Correct. At the same time, there is a reverent silence at the Divine Liturgy since the priest prays quietly before and after the Consecration.

Gracias a todos los que llegaron a la Cadena Anual por la Vida el 2 de octubre. ¡Con el viento y la lluvia había bastante que ofrecer para la conversión de corazones y mentes!
En el Rito Romano, el Santo Sacrificio de la Misa se refiere a la Misa. En el Rito Oriental usualmente es referida como la ‘Liturgia Divina’.
La Iglesia Católica verdaderamente tiene bellas Liturgias. Si alguna vez tienen tiempo de ver la Liturgia Divina, sería bueno. Ayuda a tener perspectiva.
Viendo la Divina Liturgia de San Juan Crisóstomo, usada en la Liturgia Bizantina, la congregación reza en voz alta inmediatamente después de la Consagración: Te adoramos, te bendecimos, te damos gracias, O Dios, y oramos a Ti, nuestro Dios.
La congregación también reza ante Dios Padre: Es verdaderamente apropiado glorificarte, tú que has dado a luz a Dios, la siempre bendita, inmaculada y Madre de nuestro Dios. Mas honorable que los querubines, y más allá de comparación, más gloriosa que los serafines, quien siendo virgen, dio a luz a Dios Verbo; tú, verdaderamente Madre de Dios, magnifícanos.
Inmediatamente antes del Padre Nuestro, el diácono guía a la congregación en una bella letanía de petición por la misericordia de Dios. La congregación responde a cada invocación, Dios, perdona nuestros pecados y ofensas.
Uno a lo mejor pensaría que el diacono no tiene mucho que decir o la congregación en la Plegaria Eucarística del Rito Romano. Correcto. Al mismo tiempo, hay un reverente silencio en la Divina Liturgia ya que después de la Consagración, el sacerdote reza en voz baja.
