The Importance of Weekly Mass Attendance

Do not miss an opportunity to encounter Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

Please remember that weekly Mass attendance is a basic expectation for all baptized Catholics. Mass is the greatest prayer of the Church and the very best way that we can communicate our deep gratitude for everything our Lord endured to make this Banquet possible for us. Our participation at weekly Mass is an appropriate response to the love that our Blessed Lord pours out on us lavishly at every moment that we exist. Attending Mass every Sunday liturgy (includes Saturday evening Masses after 4pm) is an act of obedience to the 3rd Commandment (divine law) and the 1st Precept of the Catholic Church. Your presence at Mass each week is non negotiable unless you are sick.

Monthly Off Campus Assignments: Meet the Saints

All families with non-sacramental children are required during the third meeting week of each month to do an off campus assignment with their non-sacramental child at home since they do not attend the sacramental prep meeting that week.

Each month your child will listen to a short story on the AMEN app about a saint and fill out a worksheet that shows us what he/she learned.

AMEN Instructions

You will need to download this free app on your phone.

On the homepage of the app, on the bottom of the screen, click on “Topics.”

On the top of that page scroll across the tabs and click on “Family.”

Scroll down and find “Saint Stories for Kids.” There is an image of a female saint with a bright red robe on a black starry background. Click on that image. You will find a list of 55 stories. Be sure to choose the correct saint of the month (see below for the list of the saints for each month).

Your Group Leader will give you an assignment to complete at the second meeting of the month. You will turn that back in at the fourth meeting of the month. Every child must complete their own paper and turn it in.
