The Importance of Weekly Mass Attendance

Please remember that weekly Mass attendance is a basic expectation for all baptized Catholics. Mass is the greatest prayer of the Church and the very best way that we can communicate our deep gratitude for everything our Lord endured to make this Banquet possible for us. Our participation at weekly Mass is an appropriate response to the love that our Blessed Lord pours out on us lavishly at every moment that we exist. Attending Mass every Sunday liturgy (includes Saturday evening Masses after 4pm) is an act of obedience to the 3rd Commandment (divine law) and the 1st Precept of the Catholic Church. Worship through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the greatest expression of our love for God. At Mass we receive a foretaste of the love that exists in Heaven. Your presence at Mass each week is non negotiable unless you are sick.

Apologetics Session
Some teachings of our Faith are difficult and counter cultural. Being able to explain your faith is important as a newly confirmed Catholic. This required Apologetics session will help you with this topic! Choose one session time for a parent and the candidate to attend together.

Confirmation Priest Interview Questions for Candidates
Holy Hour

Time spent in quiet prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament in Eucharistic Adoration is transformational. As St. Theresa of Calcutta taught, “The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in heaven, and will help bring about an everlasting peace on earth.”
Each candidate will attend a holy hour with a parent or sponsor and use the guided meditation provided by the Faith Formation Office. The candidate and parent or sponsor will go to our parish adoration chapel to complete this requirement. We will have a list of the candidates on a clipboard in the adoration chapel. When you enter the chapel, please find your name and sign in.
You will need to use the programs linked below (one for the candidate and one for the parent or sponsor). They can be found on the clipboard. Please return your program at the end for others to use. You can also print your own if you enjoy journaling while praying.
